THE Mica network
Every other network is bespoke to a single use case or currency, and still runs on reusable credentials. Mica is different — one network that handles multiple value sources in a single checkout, with none of the credential exposure legacy rails carry.
A card number sits at a merchant long after the purchase — at stores you visited once, in subscriptions you thought were dead — waiting to be exposed — and nobody can see the exposure. When something goes wrong, you replace the card and break every legitimate payment relationship. Tokenization reduces exposure, but still depends on credentials remaining valid inside legacy rails.
LEGACY VS MICA
Compare functionality, economics, and security. Every difference below follows from removing the credential — not from adding features on top.
| Legacy Payment NetworksLegacy | Mica |
|---|---|
| Forced Single Tender at Auth by Network | Multi-Tender Payments (Patented by Mica) |
| 2-4 seconds per auth | Sub 1-second per auth (even multi-tender) |
| Item level adjudication unsupported | Item-Level Adjudication (Patented by Mica) |
| Age verification is asynchronous | Age verification in the Network Transaction (Patented by Mica) |
| Coupon redemption is asynchronous | Coupon Redemption in the Network transaction (Patented by Mica) |
| All or nothing certification and implementation | Modular |
MULTI-TENDER
Mica evaluates the basket at authorization and applies eligible offers automatically. Value sources the consumer designates — gift cards, loyalty, government benefits, healthcare funds, bank accounts — are sequenced in a single transaction. No more separating purchases or scanning multiple funding sources at checkout.
